Sunday night on the rooftop patio of WEST Restaurant and Bar, glamour got taken to a whole new level. Two Towers Entertainment made a big splash with their end of summer White Party, and everyone in attendance looked oh so chic! Fashion was not just an undercurrent at this event, with a fashion show from Sugar Strings Swimwear featuring their gorgeous new bikini collections under the late summer stars. And, where there are models, Calgary designers, and a fashionable crowd, FASHIONSIGN Magazine is sure to be. We were so proud to be a part of this white-haute event!
The models looked amazing, aided by the creative genius of stylists at Edges Salon and Spa, who created whimsical and colorful up do’s for the bikini-clad beauties. As the music thumped and lights flashed, the glamorous guests all took a turn getting their photo taken at the media wall by a slew of photographers. And, they were well deserving of the photographer’s flashes. It is a well-known fact that creativity loves constraints, and that showed to be true again Sunday night. While our guests might have been restricted to white, the fashion was unbelievably appealing and, dare I say, more impressive than on a usual club-crawling evening.
The same sentiment rings true for the Sugar Strings designs. While there was oh-so-little fabric to play with, the designers at Sugar Strings have managed to cement a design style all their own. Creating a signature aesthetic can be hard to do with yards of fabric, but these ladies have managed it in four triangles per look! Distinctive fabrics and artful contrasts in color attract the eye, while luxurious touches like flowing glissenette ties, metal hardware, and jewels finished the looks. If luxury and polish is what you are after, then these designs won’t disappoint. The tropical collection’s artful clashes of color were sophisticated and bold, while the restraint of the white sugar collection left me, a self-proclaimed minimalist, drooling. Sugar Strings Swimwear also delivers on one other very important front: fit! Showcasing an array of body types in the show, these delectable little suits gracefully undertake the not-so-easy task of, at once covering, and showcasing, your precious goods. Now isn’t that sweet?!
